Geordie Shore's Kyle Christie gets a 12-hour BEARD transplant – to match his new head of hair
The reality star splurged £9,000 on the procedure
Kyle Christie has had a busy time since leaving Geordie Shore over a year ago – he's had an on-off romance with Holly Hagan, got himself a hair transplant and then decided to tattoo a portrait of his own face on Holly's neck.
And now he's splashed nearly £10,000 on a procedure to give himself a bushier beard, after revealing that he felt low in confidence.
The beard transplant took 12 hours to complete and involved having up to 2,000 follicles taken from the nape of his neck and grafted individually onto his cheeks, chin and moustache area.
Kyle was unhappy with his 'patchy' beard
He designed his new hairline himself
The grafting process took 12 hours
Dr Kumari of the Hair Transplant Centre in Liverpool revealed that Kyle designed his own hairline after feeling down about his sparse beard and obvious patches.
"He had a confidence problem. Obviously he's a telly guy and he wants to look his best," Dr Kumari told Mirror Celeb.
"He wanted his beard to look more filled out – just for his self-esteem, he doesn't want to feel low about it."
Recovery time from a beard transplant takes a couple of days, though Kyle won't experience the bushy facial hair of his dreams for another 12 to 18 months.
It comes as his Geordie Shore ex Holly revealed she no longer talks to Kyle after he inked that design of his face onto her as part of MTV's new show Just Tattoo Of Us.
Speaking to Reveal magazine the reality TV starlet admitted that the previously loved-up pair hadn't seen that much of each other in recent months.
Opening up about their split, Holly said: "If I bumped into him I would say hello, but it would be completely stupid to think we can stay in contact right now."
Kyle had tattooed his own face onto Holly's back
Despite her recent heartbreak, the bubbly ex-Geordie Shore cast-member is trying her best to stay positive.
She said: "I definitely think this is the end. It's time to move forward. Honestly, it's the best break-up I've ever had!"
But on the subject of her tattoo tribute to now ex-boyfriend Kyle, Holly was not so cheerful.
"He just picked the first thing that came into his head. I was like, 'Why did you think this would be OK? It's most definitely not'," she revealed.
"I'm having it removed. I'll do as many sessions as I can bear, then cover it with something."
